Caroline von Hannover married her first husband, Philippe Junot, on June 29, 1978. 41 years later, their daughter Charlotte Casiraghi gives Dimitri Rassam the yes. Her mother’s first wedding dress served as inspiration.
Charlotte Casiraghi, 34, and Dimitri Rassam, 39, will celebrate their second wedding anniversary on June 29, 2021. Four weeks after their civil marriage on June 1, 2019, the two ecclesiastically married in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence.
On a day that also had a special meaning for Charlotte’s mother, Caroline von Hannover, 64: On June 29, 1978, she married the investment banker Philippe Junot, 81, in Monaco. Although the marriage was divorced only two years later, the dreamy pictures are still remembered.

Princess Caroline was 21 years old when she married the financier. She wore a white dress with lace details and a flared skirt. The high-necked dress with a slightly transparent top and embroidery on the sleeve and skirt hem was designed by Marc Bohan for the French fashion house Dior. Particular eye-catchers were the hairstyle, veil and floral headdress. The look is said to have served as the inspiration for the bridal look of her eldest daughter Charlotte, who married for the second time 41 years later on the same day.
Charlotte Casiraghi: Tailor-made dress for a wedding with Dimitri Rassam
Charlotte Casiraghi wore a bespoke haute couture creation by Italian fashion designer Giambattista Valli on her special day. The similarities to her mother’s first wedding dress are unmistakable: Her dress also has elaborate lace decorations, flounces and a high, round neckline with transparent inserts. Just like her mother’s dress, Charlotte Casiraghi’s wedding dress is fitted with a narrow belt. Both women put on a natural make-up and put up hair in which the long tulle veil was tucked.

The church wedding of Charlotte Casiraghi and Dimitri Rassam took place with family and friends and only selected photos were given to the public. Charlotte wore a total of three dresses, two for the civil wedding and one for the church ceremony.
The couple lives very withdrawn, appearances together are rare. While Charlotte Casiraghi, who among other things works as a brand ambassador for Chanel, can be seen from time to time at fashion weeks and events, one hears little from her husband and children.
