Apple has just announced the integration of an application ChatGPT in the ecosystem of its mixed reality headset, the Vision Pro. This app can be downloaded from the visionOS App Store.

Apple’s very first mixed reality headset has become a reality this week, with its launch in the United States. A product which obviously creates excitement, and one of whose ambitions is to be able to deploy applications currently accessible on iPhone directly in front of the user’s eyes. In this game, many well-known apps are available on the Vision Pro… including ChatGPT!

The Cupertino company wanted to do things well for its Vision Pro headset. Thus, at its launch, it ensured that nearly 600 applications and games would be downloadable from the start in the visionOS App Store. And among these, the very first users will be able to count ChatGPT!

AI is in fact entitled to an application dedicated to this product, according to an announcement from OpenAI, an application which is put online in the application store. The star chatbot of the year 2023 is now accessible in the Apple ecosystem through an iPhone application, an iPad app, web browsers, and therefore a Vision Pro app!

Microsoft playing Apple’s game?

This arrival could reassure fans of the brand. Because if the helmet already appeals to a certain number of people, it had to deal with several handicaps, due to competition. Indeed, giants like Netflix, Spotify or Youtube (Alphabet) for their part, at the start of the year, explained that they did not wish to offer a dedicated application for the moment.

Decisions which almost certainly had their origins in disputes between these companies and Apple which had taken place in the past. On the contrary, it seems, given the arrival of ChatGPT, that the bitten apple brand is on friendlier terms with Microsoft, OpenAI’s preferred partner and the biggest investor in Sam Altman’s company. Can we imagine Bard soon having its own app on the Vision Pro?
