During the Christmas and winter seasons, hearty dishes such as roasts or roulades are simply a must. They work perfectly in cast iron roasting pans – these are currently available in the Lidl online shop at reasonable prices. The roasters are available in different colors, which are probably not coincidentally similar to the expensive Le Creuset products. The cast iron roasters are particularly popular because they offer even heat distribution and storage.

If you choose a roasting pan from a discount store, you can save a lot of money compared to the original from Le Creuset. Example: At Lidl you pay 34.99 euros for the oval cast iron roasting pan with a diameter of 29 centimeters. The original, however, costs at least 220 euros.
The Lidl roaster from Ernesto is suitable for all types of stoves and is oven safe up to 240 degrees. According to the dealer, they offer an easy-care and long-lasting enamel coating. You can use the cookware to prepare, among other things, casseroles, baked vegetables or even roasts.
The bottom of the lid has a dimpled design. Here the rising steam should condense and be distributed evenly over the food. The Ernesto roaster has a capacity of 4.8 liters and the usable volume is 3.84 liters.
Keep in mind that cast iron cookware is not exactly light. Together with the lid, the roaster weighs 3.8 kilograms. At just under 35 euros, Lidl cookware is a great alternative to the expensive original.
There are certainly differences in quality between the two products, but you should also be able to make the perfect Christmas roast in the Lidl roaster without any problems. In addition to the roaster presented here, there are other models in different sizes in the online shop.
