Cheap small car – first prize for Dacia competitor MG3 Hybrid+

The MG brand currently offers a lot of car for the money. This also applies to the almost 200 hp small car MG3, which was presented at the Geneva Motor Show at the end of February – there is a first prize.

In Great Britain, the 4.11 meter long five-door car starts at around 18,500 pounds, the equivalent of 21,600 euros. The British VAT is 20 percent, the same as in Austria. Probably one percent NoVA will be added. The only drive currently available is a full hybrid with a 1.5-liter gasoline engine (75 kW/102 hp) and a 100 kW/136 hp electric motor, thanks to a 1.8 kWh The battery can also drive purely electrically over short distances. The main task of the electric motor, however, is to be an economical helper for the combustion engine – and that of a performance booster, after all, 143 kW/194 HP system output is available. It should take around 8 seconds to reach 100 km/h from a standstill. The consumption figure is still provisional at 4.4 liters of petrol per 100 kilometers. Around 8 seconds should pass when accelerating from a standstill until 100 km/h is reached. 5 seconds are specified for the intermediate sprint from 80 to 120 km/h, which is important when overtaking. The power transmission is controlled by an automatic transmission with three stages. According to the manufacturer, this offers unspecified advantages over a CVT transmission often used in full hybrids. Two equipment variants are available. The basis is the SE with adaptive cruise control, 16-inch aluminum, rear parking sensors, air conditioning, infotainment navigation system with 10.25-inch touchscreen and DAB radio. The alternative Trophy equipment (from around 24,000 euros) also offers leather-look seat covers, a keyless system, steering wheel and seat heating as well as a 360-degree camera system.
