Cheesecakes are now available in many different variations – as American cheesecake, filled with delicious fruit or even coated with liquid chocolate. But we haven’t eaten our favorite cake as a waffle – until now!

A modified basic recipe makes it possible – cheesecake is now also available in waffle form. We took a closer look at the ingenious waffle trend and are surprised how quickly and easily this delicious delicacy is made.

Cheesecake waffles: it works with these tips!

1. This prevents the waffles from sticking to the waffle iron

So that the waffles can take on their beautiful golden brown color without sticking to the waffle iron, it is worth preheating the waffle iron on the highest setting before filling. Before the liquid batter lands on the mold, we turn the temperature of the waffle iron down a little and grease the mold with a little butter or oil.

2. Cardboard waffles? No thank you!

To prevent the waffles from becoming sticky after baking, you should avoid stacking the finished waffles on top of each other. It would be better if you place the waffles next to each other so that the steam from the hot waffles can easily escape. Of course, the waffles taste best when they are served fresh.

You need these ingredients

  • 450 g cream cheese
  • 100 g of sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon liquid vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 150 g of flour
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • Butter or oil for greasing
  • Icing sugar for dusting

Let’s go to the waffle iron: This is how the waffle batter is prepared

  1. Put the cream cheese, sugar, eggs, vanilla extract and lemon juice in a bowl and mix with a whisk to form a smooth batter.
  2. Turn on the waffle iron and set it to the highest level so that it can preheat sufficiently.
  3. In the meantime, add the flour, baking powder and salt to another bowl and mix together.
  4. Then gradually pour the flour mixture into the dough and stir in until it has completely disappeared into the dough.
  5. Now grease the preheated waffle iron with butter or oil and set the temperature to medium.
  6. Now you can start filling the dough. We recommend placing two to three tablespoons of batter per waffle in the middle of the waffle iron. You can use a small trowel if you like.
  7. Wait a moment for the batter to spread out in the waffle pan. Then close the lid and let the dough bake for about five minutes.
  8. After the five minutes, lift the waffle out of the waffle iron using a fork or spatula and place on a plate.
  9. The waffle can now be dusted with a little icing sugar as you like.
  10. Serve and enjoy!
