DeRozan hits again with the final siren
Once a basketball is in the air, the basket counts, even if the final siren has sounded in the meantime. One of the most spectacular moments in sport is when the converted hit also decides the game. One player does this for the second time in a row.
In the NBA, DeMar DeRozan hit a decisive throw with the final siren in the second game in a row. DeRozan led the Chicago Bulls on Saturday (local time) with 28 points to a 120-119 win at the Washington Wizards. “I don’t know if I’m dreaming or if this is real,” said DeRozan of his last second winning goal.
The Bulls celebrated their seventh win in a row, the last five of them under the direction of former national basketball coach Chris Fleming. The actual assistant coach of Chicago currently represents head coach Billy Donovan, who is still in corona quarantine. The Bulls are now the sole leaders of the Eastern Conference, as the Brooklyn Nets had to admit defeat to the Los Angeles Clippers 116: 120 at home. Brooklyn superstars James Harden (34 points) and Kevin Durant (28) could not prevent the defeat either.
In the Western Conference, the Golden State Warriors decided the top game for themselves: The leaders of the West won the third Utah Jazz with 123: 116. Stephen Curry was the top scorer with 28 points.
The German national basketball player Daniel Theis was in the starting line-up for the Houston Rockets for the first time since mid-December. Theis scored eight points against the Denver Nuggets, but the Rockets conceded their seventh defeat in a row with 111: 124. This leaves the Texans at the bottom of the pack in the west.
