Sores in the playground are commonplace, between falls, jostling and games, there is enough to hurt yourself. If sometimes the wounds remain superficial a bandage and it starts again, it happens that the children end up with big sores or that they have to go through the “emergency” box. This is unfortunately what happened to a little boy who was playing in the playground from his school located in the 11th arrondissement of Paris, he had a very big injury. He tripped over a hole and broke his leg!
Following this event which occurred at the beginning of March, the political authorities of Paris looked into the state of the playground of the Keller school. And the finding was clear, if there was a hole in the yard it was because it had been poorly maintained. The city has therefore decided to take its share of responsibility in this terrible incident and to compensate the child and his family..

An unprecedented situation and a large sum of money
The city of Paris considered that they were totally wrong in this case and therefore decided to pay €7,500 to the little boy and his family. This sum is intended to cover the health costs caused by the child’s injury. In making this decision, the city’s elected officials also pointed out that the maintenance of schools should not be neglected. In the event of other similar problems in playgrounds, the note could lengthen! The decision of the Paris Council did not go unnoticed by the opposition which pointed to the fact that schools had less money in recent years.
