Chinese manufacturer Pico unveils its next VR headset, the Pico 4

A presentation that wastes no time since Pico has already announced that the first copies of its Pico 4 will be shipped this month on the European market. Autonomous, compact and affordable headset, the Pico 4 clearly intends to overshadow the Meta Quest 2. If it embeds, like its competitor, the Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 SoC processor, the Pico 4 has some serious advantages to highlight. .

Starting with its ultra-thin optics, guaranteeing an elegant design. This graceful look, the helmet also owes it to its battery positioned at the back of the headband. So the weight distribution promises to be much more balanced, with the visor weighing just 295 grams for a total of less than 600 grams. With a definition of 2000 x 2000 pixels, the Pico 4 hits hard, despite an LCD panel, where a PS VR 2 puts the eyes full with its Oled 4K HDR screen. But we are talking here about a stand-alone headset offered at a price of 429 euros in its 128 GB version and 499 euros for double the memory. Remember in this respect that the Meta Quest 2 is now offered at prices of 449 and 549 euros.

Pico announces that 165 games should be available at the launch of its headset, while a wireless adapter will be offered later to ensure compatibility with Steam VR or Viveport. Also note that the Pico 4 will be able to offer augmented reality experiences thanks to a 16 MP front camera. Picro is planning a European market launch on October 18.
