Christin Stark: She loves to learn from Matthias Reim

Christin Stark (30) is back: Two years after her album "Rosenfeuer" she is already presenting her fourth studio album "STARK", which will be released next Friday (June 5). Her partner Matthias Reim (62) also produced this album – and not only that. A duo of the two in the song "Fall in Love" can also be heard. In an interview with the news agency spot on news, the pop singer reveals how much influence Matthias Reim has on her songs and how she is currently experiencing the corona crisis.

Your partner Matthias Reim was the producer of your songs on the new album. How much influence does it have on your songs?

Christin Stark: Thanks to his 30 years of experience as a songwriter, singer and producer, Matthias has developed the musical language on my album as I wish it to be. Because of his experience, I love being able to learn from him and to produce every single song with him down to the smallest detail. In any case, the basic requirement is that as an artist I have to feel comfortable in and with my songs. I wouldn't sing anything that I'm not 100 percent behind. This is completely the case on the album "STARK"!

What is it like to work with the partner?

Strong: great! We share the same ideals, ideas and dreams. A good song always goes hand in hand with a common feeling, and we speak the same language right there.

Can you separate work and private life at all?

Stark: We are an artist household and love what we do! That is exactly what defines us!

There is also a duet with Matthias Reim on the album, "Fall in love". Do you believe in love at first sight?

Strong: yes! I also believe in love that lasts forever!

Could you imagine recording a duet album together?

Stark: My focus is primarily on going my own way! It is great to work with Matthias and I learn a lot on my musical path. That's important to me! Learn and go your own way.

You named your album after yourself. Is being strong also a motto for you?

Strong: For me, being strong means authentic, rebellious, loud, quiet, rocking, multifaceted and above all one thing: to be brave! Yes, that's all my lifestyle, which I also pack into my creative work as an artist! All of this is in the new album "STARK".

Have there been moments in your life when you weren't that strong?

Strong: I think each of us knows life situations in which one was sometimes weak. It always depends on what you make of it! I go my way true to the motto: "Fall down, get up, ruffle your hair and rock life further".

In "I can do it" you sing about prejudices that others had about your relationship. Which sayings did you have to put up with?

Strong: For me, hate, envy and resentment are qualities that consume so much energy and yet do nothing. I always go through the world with an open heart in my life. Only when you can give yourself without demanding anything back at the same time will everything come back to you in the end. Live and love the way you want to be loved yourself.

You once trained as a hairdresser. Did that benefit you now in the Corona crisis?

Stark: I think during the Corona period there was more important than perfectly styled hair.

Do you also style yourself for appearances?

Strong. Yes! Make-up, styling and clothes are always out of my creative wardrobe.

How sad are you that there are currently no concerts?

Strong: Very! I am very close to the fans and friends out there! Making music with people means a lot to me and they give you strength and energy. In times like these, I'm pretty much out of my mind as a singer. Applause is a drug.

How do you use your newly gained time in the corona crisis?

Strong: The pandemic is a major challenge for all of us. But this also gives you the chance to find your inner peace again. I firmly believe that we all must and will treat each other more carefully. I use the morning hours for long walks with my two dogs – best friends on four paws.

What do you wish for after the crisis?

Strong: stay positive! Looking to the future with confidence, being considerate of one another. This time passes and then we rock the stages together again as if it were the first time! I am really looking forward to this!
