Christoph Metzelder has to go to court. The Düsseldorf District Court has admitted the indictment. The ex-soccer player denies the allegations.

Ex-soccer professional Christoph Metzelder (40) has to answer in court. The District Court of Düsseldorf has admitted the prosecutor's charge "because of the company of providing another person with possession of child pornographic writings" in 29 cases "and possession of child pornographic and youth pornographic writings in another case" and opened the main proceedings before the criminal judge in a communication from the court. Metzelder denies the allegations.

"The defendant opposes the allegations," the statement continued. "The main trial serves to clarify whether the allegations made in the indictment are true or not. The defendant is considered innocent until the trial has been legally concluded." The trial is scheduled to start on April 29th.
