Cinema Quiz: are you a fan of the 80s? Prove it !

The posters of feature films from the 80s are inseparable from their famous taglines, these phrases which accompany the titles of the films at the time of their release. Can you find the words erased from these eight posters?

Before the release of a film, there is a whole promotional period, sometimes essential for potential future success. Among the different stages of this preparation, there is obviously the importance given to film posters.

And on these posters, alongside the names of the stars highlighted, and the eye-catching visuals, we can generally find the taglines, these little catchphrases which have sometimes left an impression on the public and remain in the memory of the spectators or of other times offer brilliantly rotten puns, like on these animated film posters!

As for a memorable slogan, we could for example cite that of James Cameron’s epic monument, Titanic: “Nothing on Earth could separate them”. A simple sentence which in a few words announces to the viewer that they are going to witness a love story, that this romance will take place at sea, but at the same time subtly foreshadowing an outcome that is not necessarily happy for this couple. embarked on the cursed liner.

Sometimes these taglines can also refer to common references in popular culture. For example, it was the angle chosen for Todd Phillips’ film Very Bad Trip which, with the phrase “They came, they drank, they don’t remember”, not only managed to perfectly pitch the film in a very concise way, but in addition echoed this famous formula “I came, I saw, I conquered” (“Veni, Vidi, Vici”) pronounced by Caesar after one of his military victories.

Among the many other memorable taglines, we could also cite “You don’t know her, but she already hates you” from Auntie Danielle, “You can’t have 500 million friends without making a few enemies” from The Social Network, or more recently for Alone on Mars: “Help is 225 million kilometers away”.

You will find a few others in this quiz, just as famous, and all from films released in the 80s, but for each of them a missing word that you will have to find among three propositions. Up to you !
