Movie quality Scream having declined over the first 4 episodes, horror fans were scared when Paramount Pictures had announced a belated fifth installment, simply called Scream. Released at the beginning of 2022, it nevertheless enjoyed great public and critical success, thanks to a story that still plays with the codes of the slasher for a result that seduced.
It was soon confirmed that production on a sequel would be launched, but we didn’t expect it to go that quickly. Scream VI (thanks to the archaic numbering) is already a reality: its first teaser trailer has just been released and its release date is set at March 8, 2023 in France and 10 in the United States. The court trailer teaches us that a killer under the mask of Ghostface will rage this time in New York, on Halloween nightwhile his disguise obviously mixes with that of onlookers and the huge crowd out in town, notably made up of 4 survivors of the tragedy of Woodsboro…
In the casting, we will find Melissa Barrera (Sam Carpenter), Jasmine Savoy Brown (Mindy Meeks Martin), Mason Gooding (Chad Meeks-Martin), Jenna Ortega (Tara Carpenter), Hayden Panettiere (Kirby Reed) and Courteney Cox (Gale Weathers), alongside newcomers Jack Champion, Henry Czerny, Liana Liberato, Dermot Mulroney, Devyn Nekoda, Tony Revolori, Josh Segarra and Samara Weaving, still under the direction of directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett.
Will the winning recipe still work? Answer in a few weeks! Until then, Scream (2022) is available on Blu-ray from €13.41 on Amazon.co.uk.
