A few meters below the summit cross of the Jenner (Bavaria), an American (73) lost his balance on Saturday afternoon. He tilted backwards and fell more than 100 meters over steep and rocky terrain. An eyewitness immediately went down to the vacationer and rushed to his aid – but it was already too late.
After a few minutes, the helper reached the American. He made an emergency call and began resuscitation. But the 73-year-old died of serious injuries at the scene of the accident. The police and mountain rescue service recovered the dead. The crisis intervention team looked after the man’s companions.
