Cnova: Change of managing director, the title drops

(CercleFinance.com) – Cnova, the Casino subsidiary specializing in e-commerce, announced last night the departure of its managing director Emmanuel Grenier and his replacement by Thomas Métivier, a house executive.

This change follows the appointment of Emmanuel Grenier, aged 51, to the position of e-commerce executive director for the Casino group, which will lead him to step down from both his functions as CEO and executive director of Cnova dated January 16.

Subject to the green light from the group’s shareholders at the end of the next general meeting to be held next March, Grenier will continue to sit on the board of directors as a non-executive director and will also chair the strategic committee of Cnova.

Aged 35, Thomas Métivier will replace him as CEO of Cnova effective January 16 and will also be appointed CEO of Cdiscount, the group’s main brand.

Thomas Métivier had held the position of Managing Director of Octopia, Cdiscount’s BtoB activity dedicated to the marketing of marketplace solutions, which he successfully launched for almost two years.

In another governance change, Guillaume Michaloux – Casino’s director of strategy and M&A in Latin America – has been appointed non-executive director to replace Ronaldo Iabrudi dos Santos Pereira, who resigned yesterday.

Following these announcements, the Cnova title dropped nearly 3.3% on Friday morning on the Paris Stock Exchange, in a market up around 0.5%.
