After the renewed cancellation, the Glastonbury Festival will take place as a live stream this year. Coldplay will headline it.

Like so many other festivals, the famous Glastonbury Festival had to cancel this year’s edition due to the corona pandemic. But the makers don’t want to leave the fans behind without concerts. Therefore, a live stream concert will be held on May 22nd as an alternative.

As the Inform the organizer on their homepage, will perform including Coldplay (“Everyday Life”), Damon Albarn and Haim. The performances will be broadcast around the world from the traditional venue at Worthy Farm in south-west England. IDLES, Jorja Smith, Michael Kiwanuka, Wolf Alice and DJ Honey Dijon will also be heard and seen at the five-hour event.

Festival organizer Emily Eavis also promises further special guests and surprising collaborations in a statement. Tickets for the live stream are available for 23 euros. The proceeds will not only secure the planned return of the “mother of all festivals” in 2022, but will also go to the three most important charitable partners of Glastonbury: Oxfam, Greenpeace and WaterAid.
