Controls from Wednesday – Annaberg took the first measures before the controls

All Annaberg residents should have negative evidence with them from Wednesday if they want to leave their place of residence. The state ordered exit controls for the community. Many infections and the poor vaccination coverage are the reason for this. The mayor has already prepared for it.

Almost a year ago the corona numbers exploded in Annaberg-Lungötz, now it’s that time again: In the last few days the community has had many Covid cases, the country is now taking action. Exit restrictions apply from Wednesday. The 7-day incidence of Annaberg-Lungötz is over 2500, and the vaccination rate in the village can be increased – just one in two people is vaccinated.

Measures have already been taken in advance
Mayor Martin Promok (SPÖ): “To be honest, this development doesn’t surprise me. The numbers have exploded here since last week. ”So the local chief has even been active in front of the authority. “Due to the high numbers, we canceled events at the weekend or moved them to larger rooms in order to be able to keep all the distances generously,” he says.

The test road, which was previously operated jointly with the Abtenau community, is now to be converted into a PCR test station together with the Red Cross, and additional vaccination campaigns are planned in the area.

Were weddings the incidence trigger?
How does the population find the new pandemic restrictions themselves? “We definitely support the measures, but also want the Annaberg people to have as few restrictions as possible,” says the mayor.

By the way: According to “Krone” information, the high numbers in the three neighboring villages are related to two recently celebrated weddings.
