Do the schools have to close again now?
Corona aktuell: Another nationwide school closure would certainly bring many parents to their limits – and yet it could be necessary again.
The number of infections in Germany is breaking new records every day. It is already becoming apparent that the schools may soon be closed again after all.
The fourth wave has Germany firmly under control – and is now particularly hard on those who are still too young to be protected with a vaccination. More and more children and adolescents are tested positive for the virus every day – and so are of course also a risk of infection for their classmates. As a result, an uncomfortable question gradually arises with renewed urgency: Do schools have to be closed again if this development is not stopped?

The question is more acute than many of us suspect: In Saxony alone, 88 schools have had to be either partially or completely closed since the beginning of the month.
