Inconceivable: Kelsey Townsend from Wisconsin gave birth to a baby three months ago – in a corona coma. Now she can hold her child in her arms for the first time.
Kelsey Townsend was in an artificial coma from being infected with COVID-19. The mother of four children was infected with the virus in October. A little later, because of her health, she was taken to the hospital.
Her physical condition was so poor that the pregnant woman was put on a lung transplant list. For weeks she fought for her life, her husband and four children always by her side.
During the coma, daughter Lucy was finally born in November. After endless further time in a coma, the mother and her baby finally came into contact last Thursday. An incredibly emotional moment. The whole family is happy to be together again.
