“Thank you Finland, Hungary, the Netherlands, Sweden”, Health Minister Daniels Pavluts wrote on Twitter on Monday. Accordingly, the four countries have made medical equipment available to the Baltic EU country through the EU civil protection – including artificial lung ventilators and syringe perfusion pumps.
The corona situation has recently worsened in Latvia. According to the national health authorities, a good 1745 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants were registered in the past 14 days. The EU authority ECDC currently has one of the highest infection rates in Europe for the Baltic state.
