Several people were infected with the corona virus on the TUI cruise ship “Mein Schiff 4”. As the Hamburg company Tui Cruises announced, all 1,600 passengers now have to leave the ship on the island of Gran Canaria on Sunday.
For most of them, the trip ends on schedule – around 300 people would have wanted to spend another week on the ship. As the newspaper “Bild” reports, they too have to leave the cruiser.
Affected people isolated
The infections were initially only found in four guests. However, after a full test of the passengers and the crew, further cases came up.
In consultation with the Spanish authorities, those affected and their contact persons were isolated in a designated area on board. They also have to remain in quarantine on land. According to Tui Cruses, however, those infected have no or only mild symptoms.
From February 2G-Plus
The ship should leave with new guests on Sunday. According to TUI Cruises, the 3G model currently applies on board – people who have been vaccinated, those who have recovered and those who have been tested can travel with them.
But that should change at the end of February. From then on, the 2G-Plus model will apply on TUI cruise ships. Then only those who have been vaccinated or who have recovered with an additional test are allowed on board. (bra)
