The German Corona warning app has received another update. There is now also a contact diary in the application.

According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the German corona warning app, which has been downloaded more than 24 million times, has received a new update. From now on there is also a contact diary in the application. In this, users can note where they have been in the past two weeks and who they have met. According to the developers, the data is not transmitted and is only saved on your own smartphone.

This is how the contact diary works

Places and people only have to be entered manually the first time and can then be selected directly from a list. Anyone who has been infected with the coronavirus can understand more quickly who they met in the previous days and then inform the relevant people themselves. Contact persons who do not use the app are not forgotten and can be informed of a possible infection as soon as possible.

The information entered can also be deleted at any time. Entries are also automatically removed after 16 days. The contacts can also be exported in text format and, for example, also printed out, in order to present the list to the health department, among other things, if the latter asks about the meetings over the past few weeks.
