SEOUL (Reuters) – South Korea plans to resume issuing short-term visas to travelers from China, South Korean officials said on Friday.

Seoul last month suspended the issuance of short-term visas for visitors from China due to Beijing lifting its “zero-Covid” policy.

China, then in the grip of a new epidemic wave, had responded by suspending the issuance of visas for South Korean travelers.

South Korean Deputy Interior Minister Kim Sung-ho announced that the government had decided to resume issuing visas after the number of cases of contamination among travelers arriving from China dropped drastically.
