Corsair finally allows a tester to look – summarily – at the case of his first SSD PCI Express 5.0.
While it had so far promoted the MP700 as its first PCIe Gen 5.0 SSD, it is another model from the American brand that is making headlines with interesting speeds.
Nearly 12 GB/s sequential write
If the market is not yet ripe for SSDs supporting PCI Express 5.0, this does not prevent manufacturers from presenting their solutions and Corsair has decided to send its T700 to Linus Sebastian.
The famous tester obviously didn’t hesitate to try – even if it seems to be quite sketchy for the moment – the beast and to share his first results. On Tweeter, Linus Sebastian revealed the speeds he obtained with a test on CrystalDiskMark.
Sequentially, it is thus a question of 12,422.43 MB/s on the read test and 11,857.50 MB/s on the write test. Speeds which do not yet reach the theoretical values authorized by PCI Gen 5, but which already go further than the results presented via the MP700 last August.
No price, no release date
At the time, Corsair was advancing speeds of 10 GB/s in sequential read and 9.5 GB/s in sequential write. Today, we can also count on random results, ie 88.03 MB/s in reading and an impressive 341.09 MB/s in writing.
Unfortunately, we don’t have much information at this time about the test platform or the exact configuration of Corsair’s SSD. At most, we know that it is a version with 2 TB of capacity and built around the E26 controller signed Phison.
Linus Sebastian does not go into details and there is no question of talking about prices or a release date. More than a year after the release of the first compatible platforms, PCI Express 5.0 is slow to take hold, whether on the SSD side or on the graphics card side.
