Coupe de France: Lack of land, Versailles forced to play its semi-final in Nice

Versailles (N2) will not be able to receive Nice in the semi-final of the Coupe de France on Tuesday March 1. The match will ultimately be played at Les Aiglons.

This is very bad news for Versailles supporters. In search of a stadium in Ile de France that can host this historic match, the National 2 club – whose main stadium is not approved – must finally draw a line under its beautiful party.

Initially, Versailles hoped to find an agreement with one of the big clubs in the region, in particular PSG (Parc des Princes) and Paris FC (Charléty stadium), or even with the Stade de France. But all the responses were unfavorable.

The club, which qualified by beating Bergerac (N2), also studied the possibility of playing this match in Lens, but without hope.

Versailles has therefore decided to accept the rules which allow the meeting to be reversed in the event of non-possibility of hosting. OGC Nice will thus receive the Petit Poucet of the Coupe de France on Tuesday 1er March at 9 p.m.

The winner will face the winner of the other semi-final between Nantes and Monaco (Wednesday March 2).
