Covid-19: Didier Raoult believes that we must “focus on those who are at risk of dying”

Guest of L’Heure des Pros, this Friday, May 6 in the morning on CNEWS, Didier Raoult spoke about the Covid-19 crisis. The Marseille professor notably considered that “we must focus on those who are at risk of dying”.

“We see that from the moment we have specific measures for nursing homes, with people who are vaccinated and who we control with PCR tests, we can see that we have a spectacular reduction in the death of the most of 85 years”, he developed.

For Didier Raoult, in order to ensure ideal control of the epidemic, the health authorities must therefore above all focus on the most vulnerable populations.

Among them, the elderly, but also those who are not vaccinated.

A better controlled virus?

This statement by the Marseille professor comes as the coronavirus epidemic is currently experiencing an upturn in France.

According to figures published by Public Health France, the number of contaminations and people hospitalized due to Covid-19 continued to drop on Thursday. The number of hospitalizations increased from 21,880 patients against 22,319 the day before.

Similarly, in terms of contaminations and deaths, there were 43,865 contaminations this Thursday against 46,080 the day before and 123 people died in the past twenty-four hours, against 102 Wednesday.

However, the vast majority of doctors and scientists agree that the epidemic is not and will not be over. Some, like the director of the scientific council Jean-François Delfraissy, warning against the possible appearance of a new variant in the fall, thanks to lower temperatures.

Didier Raoult came to CNEWS to present his latest book, “War Notebooks” (Ed. Michel Lafon) in which he notably explains his relationship with the media.
