Crash on B50 – seriously injured person flown to hospital by helicopter


For an as yet unexplained cause, a driver lost control of his car in a roundabout on the B50 in Burgenland and ended up in the ditch. The man was injured so badly in the accident that he had to be flown to the hospital by rescue helicopter after first aid.

The serious traffic accident occurred shortly before 8 p.m. on Wednesday evening. Why the man in the roundabout between Neusiedl am See and Jois lost control is still unclear. What is certain is that he first drove into the ditch and was then thrown into an adjacent field.

A committed first aider rescued the seriously injured man from his car and looked after him until the emergency services arrived.

After the accident, smoke came out of the car. The first aider was able to extinguish the fire before the Florianis arrived.
