On Monday night, unknown people blew up an ATM in Ruswil LU.
As a result, ten people had to be evacuated for safety reasons.
The perpetrators fled in an unknown direction.
The ATM was blown up shortly before 2:30 a.m., Lucerne police said. According to initial findings, two suspected perpetrators used electric motorcycles to escape.
Ten people were evacuated after the blast. Their apartments were in the same building as the ATM. Lucerne police said no one was injured.
Since this is an explosives offense, the Federal Prosecutor’s Office is leading the investigation. The village center of Ruswil was partially cordoned off due to the police operation, as the statement continues. In addition to the Lucerne police and the federal police (Fedpol), the fire departments of Buttisholz, Wolhusen, Neuenkirch-Hellbühl and Ruswil were on duty.
The Zurich Forensic Institute and a specialist in building statics were also called in. The police did not provide any information about the loot to the Keystone-SDA news agency, citing the ongoing investigation.
