And the best Japanese anime of the year is… While the cinema awards season which precedes the Oscars is currently in full swing in Hollywood, it was on the side of Tokyo that the annual Crunchyroll Anime Awards ceremony.
While the awards were dominated by Demon Slayer (Best Action, Best Animation and Best Director) and SPY X FAMILY (Best Novelty and Best Comedy in particular), the title of Best Anime of the Year was awarded to the production Netflix Cyberpunk Edge Runners.
On the feature film side, Jujutsu Kaisen 0 – the prequel to the animated series – leaves with the Best Film award, One Piece is rewarded with the Best Sequel award, and finally our national treasure Brigitte Lecordier was awarded the Best Actress for her portrayal of Boiji in Ranking on Kings.
