The BLAST CS:GO circuit will not return until April with the Spring Showdown, a last chance tournament, to advance to the Spring Finals. But several teams will spend the next few months in the warm… They are indeed 6 to have already validated their ticket. Let’s review the workforce.

Not everyone is a fan of the format BLAST. Even if we appreciated the beautiful game offered and broadcast on the Twitch channel MGGit must be recognized that the successive trees made reading relatively difficult… Between the group phase, the Play-In and the repechage phase some got lost.

But in the end, of the 12 participants alone 6 got their ticket for the Spring Finals. If the majority of heavyweights responded present (G2, Navi, Vitality…) we still had the right to some surprises.

Team Vitality and G2 Esports already in great shape

Of the 6 qualified teams, several were eagerly awaited. One thinks in particular of the titans of Team Vitality and the samurai of G2 Esports. The first tournament of the year is often the tournament of all dangers since everyone is in the run-in. But despite the many changes, the two “favorite” teams of the French did not disappoint.

  • Team Vitality (winner): the bees made an almost perfect copy, united in the effort. Cohesion was there and the Franco-Danish roster played together. We liked everything during this first tournament: the mentality of the team, its strategies and its skill.
  • OG (winner): we didn’t necessarily expect this team at this level after a transfer window that raised a lot of questions. But OG is the only team that hasn’t lost a single game! Solid and well led by the new captain nexa, we can only say GG to OG.
  • FaZe (winner): FaZe looks like a superteam this year and individually, all the players on the roster have shone. ropz was diabolical and he integrated very quickly, we will have to watch the team for the rest of the season.
  • G2 (finalist): G2 have shown character and their start to the season is very positive. Compared to last year, the improvement seems clear and the danger now comes from everywhere in Samurai. It will however be necessary to see what it gives against other heavyweights.
  • Navigation (finalist): small disappointment for Navi and s1mple who were roughed up for the recovery. Surprisingly enough, the players did not seem on their plate. The qualification is there, but it was complicated.
  • BIG (finalist): the good surprise of the tournament with OG. BIG looks like a little thumb despite its name and few people had bet on the team. But the German structure fought hard to grab a qualification. Solid in duels and collectively compact, she made good use of the weaknesses of others.

There should be 2 Majors on CS:GO this year as the global pandemic calms down and the circuit gradually resumes its rights. It is rumored that the second will take place in Brazil and we were waiting to find out more about the first… It is now official and it will be with our neighbors!
