Tom Cruise is far from done with cinema and at 61 years old, he is committed to working on a new franchise this year.

Tom Cruise is one of the most popular Hollywood stars, but above all the main role of the Mission Impossible franchise (and Top Gun) which has a total of 8 films, the last being scheduled for 2025. After almost 28 years spent in the shoes of Ethan Hunt, one would think that at 61 the time for retirement had come. But it’s a poor idea to know the actor who immediately leaves to work on future feature films in partnership with Warner Bros..

Tom Cruise always in the heart of the action

Through an Instagram post posted online three days ago, the actor announces a contract signed with Warner Bros with the aim of working on a new series of films mixing original productions and franchise in which he will star. The star and his company therefore set down their suitcases in the offices of the large company. Tom Cruise has already worked with Warner Studios in the past, making notable appearances in Interview with the Vampire in 1994, Magnolia released in 1999, and in Eyes Wide Shut the same year.

Most recently, he appeared in the musical Rock of Ages in 2012, and two years later the action star had the lead role in the Warner-produced Edge of Tomorrow. An initiative taken by Michael de Luca and Pam Adby who recently took over as CEO and president of Warner Bros. Pictures in 2022 and who have since been working to revitalize the studio in collaboration with their employer, David Zaslav. Even if it is an important signing, the actor is free to shoot for other studios like Paramount or Universal Studio.

Where to see Tom Cruise in the years to come?

After the announcement of this partnership, one may wonder where Tom Cruise is going in the years to come. The first obvious answer is in Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning Part 2 with Paramount, but we will have to wait until 2025 to see the return of Ethan Hunt. Another project planned with Universal Studios plans to send the actor into space, no less, and he could thus become the first civilian to rub shoulders with the stars. Another film is going to be directed by Doug Liman. The two men have already collaborated on Edge of Tomorrow in 2014 and three years later on American Made. Suffice to say that at 61 years old, Tom Cruise has not finished surprising us.
