Invited to the show Hot Ones, broadcast on Youtube, Panayotis Pascot confided in his experience as a columnist in the Quotidien show. The comedian notably returned to the reasons for his departure from the talk show in 2017.
A necessary departure. In 2015, Panayotis Pascot made his debut on television by joining the Petit Journal team, which later became Daily when the show aired on TMC the following year. But in 2017, the young comedian decides to leave to turn to new horizons. “The temptation to stay at Quotidien is great, but this year I decided to tackle new projects. I had two very fun years. Yann Barthès and Laurent Bon taught me a lot. I wish my (ex-)colleagues a great start to the new school year! As for us, we’ll see you again very soon, I promise!”, he confided at the time. A few days later, on the VL radio antenna, he had however assured that it was for him a “complicated decision“.”It is the most interesting program at the moment I think on television in France. It’s a thoughtful decision. (…) It was an intense reflection”he explained.
But Panayotis Pascot persevered and managed to achieve his dreams. The public was thus able to discover it a few months after its departure in the film Adopt a widower alongside André Dussollier. And since 2019, he has been performing his first solo on stage, entitled Almost.
Panayotis Pascot: “I resign because I was not happy”
Guest Hot Onesa program broadcast on Youtube and hosted by Kyan Khonjandi, Panoayotis Pascot said he left at the right time to Daily, because he was reaching a point of no return. He mentioned in particular that evening when his brother was visiting him in Paris, and that he sat down at the table in the middle of the night while Panayotis Pascot was enjoying a bowl of cereal. “He arrives, he uses the milk, and in fact the milk was gone. I didn’t realize it so much that I was not well”he reported, before adding that it was at this precise moment that he understood that he had to find a solution to remedy the situation: “It was the first time that I trusted what I felt. (…) I wanted to go on stage.”
Faced with the creator of the Brief series, Panayotis Pascot also revealed that he no longer felt in his place in Daily, and had a lot of trouble taking criticism. “I quit because I was not happy. (…) It was hard, there are a lot of people who look at you, who judge you, who allow themselves to say that you do shit. It’s kinda creepy”he admitted, quoting in particular the words of the waiters of a restaurant in which he had entered: “Not phew yesterday’s column“. Far from these derogatory judgments, the 24-year-old comedian is now flourishing on stage and is already planning new projects.
