This comedy shoot was no fun: Film star Dakota Johnson reports on a US talk show about the “worst time” of her life.

US actress Dakota Johnson (34) spoke openly on US television about the most unsuccessful film shoot of her career. In the late night show of US talker Seth Meyers (50) she described her filming of the US version of the global hit series “The Office” according to the New York Post, “the worst time of my life.” And this despite the fact that the “Fifty Shades” star was previously a fan of the series.

“I love this series so much”

After eight years and nine seasons, the series finale of the US version of “The Office” came in 2013. At that time, Dakota Johnson received a request for a guest role. In the depiction of everyday office life at an American paper company led by lead actor Steve Carell (61), she was supposed to play the employee “Dakota”: “I love this series so much, and they asked me: ‘Do you want to appear in the series finale?’ And I said, ‘Of course,’ and thought I’d only show up for half a day. I was there for two weeks and I’m barely on the show,” says Johnson, summing up her guest appearance soberingly.

“No one wanted to talk to me”

Things were anything but funny on the set of the comedy series: “Many people on the set seemed sad,” said Johnson. She reports a “strange dynamic that developed over the previous ten years.” Apparently, as in any real office, not all colleagues got along behind the scenes. “Some people didn’t talk to each other,” she explains. “And I walk in and say, ‘I’m so excited to be here!’ Nobody wanted to talk to me. Nobody cared about me. I stood in the background in all these scenes and sent faxes.” Her cameo appearance in 2013 was originally intended as a precursor to a spin-off of the series – with her in the lead role. But the planned spin-off never materialized.

“Sometimes things have to end”

Dakota Johnson is the daughter of Melanie Griffith (66) and Don Johnson (74). She can already look back on numerous career highlights – especially her leading role as Ana Steele in the “Fifty Shades” trilogy. Her “Office” shoot in 2013, on the other hand, is likely to rank last in the ranking of highlights. Nevertheless, the partner of Coldplay singer Chris Martin (46) does not look back with bitterness: “Even if something was successful for a long time, you shouldn’t continue to wring out the towel of history. Sometimes things have to end when they are supposed to end.”
