Damartex is trading at 10.75 euros (+2.87%) this Monday around 2 p.m. while the French and British websites of the famous clothing brand Damart are still unavailable for browsing. The servers of the Roubaix group suffered a cyberattack on Monday August 15 in the middle of the Assumption holiday, reveals The Parisian. “Following an attempted computer intrusion on our servers, our site has unfortunately been unavailable in recent days” indicates the company on its website Damart.fr.
According The Parisian, the Hive ransomware strain was reportedly found on the servers of the Roubaix group, known for its flagship brand Damart. Hackers would have had partial access to theActive Directory, a critical service used to administer a computer network. It also makes it possible to manage sensitive data such as accounts and identifiers. The intrusion was quickly identified and stopped by the company’s IT teams.
No leak of personal data observed
“Attackers didn’t have time to do what they wanted such as fully deploy ransomware and there was no evidence at this stage of any data theft from our customers.” said a spokesperson for the group at Parisian. No ransom note was demanded by the hackers. However, a complaint has been filed with the specialized services of the gendarmerie and the Cnil, as required by the procedure in the event of a computer attack involving personal and commercial data.
A return to normal for the damart.fr site is planned for this week. “Thanks to the unfailing mobilization of our teams, we are happy to announce that the damart.fr site will be back this week” indicates Damart on its website.
On the stock market, the action of the parent company Damartex was also attacked. The file lost 15% on Wednesday August 24 in the wake of this press information. Since then, the stock has picked up a bit. On the 10.75 euros, the title Damartex remains close to its annual lows. It is now down 50% since January 1, bringing its decline to nearly 75% since its historic zenith in January 2018 at 42 euros.
