The singer claimed to have "repeatedly refused"to participate in the show because of"planning concerns". But it was not only his schedule that kept him from participating in the dance competition. A twist of fate also thwarted the plans of the soon-to-be-entered Meeting in unknown land : "I have a lot of admiration for this show and I really want to learn to dance. The last time I almost said yes"He revealed. But an injury called everything into question… his dream of participating was pushed back once again in 2019 when he fell off the stage, fracturing his wrist."The right time was chosen in 2019 and finally, it was the Good Lord who decided otherwise … You never know what the future holds (…) It's never impossible. Give me challenges, I'm hungry for this!", joked the 36-year-old singer discovered in The Voice.
A fall during a concert prevents him from participating
Indeed, it was in May 2019 that Amir fell off the stage, during a concert in Aubagne (Bouches-du-Rhône). The singer who previously appeared on Nouvelle Star had fractured his left wrist, preventing him from appearing on the dance show for medical reasons. Amir was then in a plaster, and had to put his plans on hold. "My wrist broke into a thousand pieces. It was really a few weeks before the start, and the doctor told me it was impossible, that the risk was too high so that made it so that I didn't do the show", lamented the former candidate for Eurovision Song Contest. We hope that Amir will soon be able to fulfill his dream of swinging his hips on the set of Dance with the stars, but he may have to wait a little longer … Indeed, because of the health restrictions caused by the coronavirus pandemic, TF1 has yet to postpone the next season of the show.
