Mallorca instead of the Black Forest: Daniela Katzenberger spends Christmas with her family on the island.

The corona pandemic and the tough measures that have been decided are also messing up the celebrities' Christmas plans. Daniela Katzenberger (34) actually wanted to go to the Black Forest with her family. "Now there is a Christmas party on Mallorca with mild island temperatures," she reveals in an interview with the news agency spot on news and gives insights into her holiday preparations with husband Lucas Cordalis (53) and daughter Sophia (5).

How is the corona pandemic affecting your Christmas plans this year?

Daniela Katzenberger: We actually wanted to go to the Black Forest and spend Christmas there. But Corona put a spanner in the works. Now there is a Christmas party in Mallorca with mild island temperatures. I was looking forward to the snow and mulled wine.

Who are you going to celebrate with?

Katzenberger: We celebrate Christmas in a very small family circle. Corona-compliant, of course, as it should be. I would like to cook delicious meals for my family with turkey, red cabbage and everything that goes with it. This is my favorite recipe in my cookbook. I love Christmas and all the delicious food after you roll around the apartment and have to open the first button on your pants.

Who will you especially miss at the table this Christmas?

Katzenberger: I will miss Costa. His positive and warm manner and how great he sang Christmas carols with Lucas. It was always so nice!

On Instagram you put three Christmas trees to choose from, each of which was decorated by you, Sophia and Lucas. Which will it ultimately be?

Katzenberger: Good question! It's really difficult because each one of us is defending our favorite tree and we really want to win. It remains exciting.

Many couples don’t give each other anything anymore. How about you and Lucas?

Katzenberger: Lucas and I only give each other little things, just to unpack something under the Christmas tree. Gifts are not that important to us; family time means a lot more to us.

Did your daughter write a wish list?

Katzenberger: Oh yes! And if the Christ Child really fulfills all of my wishes, I will soon have a nursery where I have to look for my daughter because she can hide in the mountain of toys, cuddly toys and Barbies.

Which Christmas traditions are particularly close to your heart?

Katzenberger: I like to bake cookies together and snack on a lot of dough. I also love Christmas markets – I hope that will work again next year.

The final spurt for 2020 also begins with the Christmas season: What is your personal balance sheet for the year?

Katzenberger: It was a crazy year. A year that really made me appreciate the little things in life a lot more. But also a year in which you had to limit yourself extremely. I felt sorry for my little daughter in particular. After all, it's much harder for children than it is for us. We can pull ourselves together and do without contacts, etc. for a certain time, but this is really a challenge for children.

What do you wish for in 2021?

Katzenberger: Health and that everything will return to normal.

What are your plans for 2021, when will there be new episodes of your documentary show?

Katzenberger: The plan is called "Everything on New" and that is exactly what the new episodes will be about. I don't want to reveal more about that yet, but as soon as I know when the episodes will be shown, I'll be happy to reveal a little more.

Do you already know how you will spend New Year's Eve?

Katzenberger: At home with lots of good films.
