Daredevil Born Again: Jon Bernthal returns as Punisher on the set of the Marvel series

After a complicated start to production and numerous interruptions, filming of the Marvel series Daredevil: Born Again is currently in full swing in New York. New images have surfaced on the web to give us a glimpse of Jon Bernthal’s bloody return in the Punisher costume.

The return of Frank Castle

Daredevil: Born Again being a soft reboot from the 2014 Netflix series with Charlie Cox in the role of Matt Murdock/Daredevil, several well-known faces from the original show are back in this new Marvel production for Disney+.

Cox will once again play the role of Jon Bernthal, who first played Frank Castle, aka Punisher, in season 2 of Daredevil. He later played the character in two seasons of the Netflix series Punisherreleased on the platform between 2017 and 2019.

Daredevil: Born Again will once again follow the adventures of Matt Murdock, a blind lawyer who became a vigilante. We will also see Vincent D’Onofrio, once again in the skin of the Kingpin, Wilson Fisk (a character seen recently in the mini-series Echo).

Rumor has it that Murdock’s sidekicks, Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll) and Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson), are also returning… but this has not been confirmed by Marvel.

Filming was finally able to resume in January 2024 but Marvel had to reduce the number of episodes of the show from 18 to 13.
That being said, the images revealed of Jon Bernthal and Charlie Cox on the set of Daredevil: Born Again seem to indicate that the wheel has (finally) turned for this production.

We still don’t know exactly when the series will be released on Disney+, but it probably won’t be before 2025.
