In the columns of La Marseillaise, Wednesday January 26, 2022, the son of Bernard Tapie, Stéphane, took the floor to announce that he intended to do everything possible to ensure that his father’s last wishes were respected.
Stéphane Tapie is a man of honour. As he made it known in the columns of The Marseillaise, Wednesday January 26, 2022, he intends to respect the last wishes of his father, Bernard Tapie. Indeed, he came out of the silence to evoke the cover of the title Provence, owned by his father. “There is one thing that interests me: that his last wishes are respected. They were crisp and clear: that it is Xavier Niel who can take over Le Provence. I gave my father my word, I’ll do anything for it“, he thus declared. Only, the possible arrival of Xavier Niel does not seem to please everyone. Some point the finger at the fact that he is already at the head of several other media.
A situation that does not pose a problem for the son of Bernard Tapie. “In our region, pluralism exists. Le Provençal and le Méridional have never done so well as when there was emotion and sometimes confrontation between them. There will be no strong Provence without strong Marseillaise either. Everyone knows that my father, in taking over La Provence, had praised the work of the journalists of La Marseillaise, beyond the differences of political views and the economic interests that exist.“, he further explained to highlight the state of mind of his father.
