Death of little Rayan in Morocco: the child buried on Monday

The child’s funeral is to take place near the village of Ighrane, where the tragedy unfolded, probably in the early afternoon, according to AFP journalists on the spot.

This morning, villagers were cleaning up the surroundings of the old Douar Zaouia cemetery, located in the middle of the woods 6 km from the village, in order to welcome the crowd of participants.

After being extracted from the hole on Saturday, the remains of the 5-year-old boy, accompanied by his parents, were transported to the military hospital in Rabat, probably for an autopsy.

On Tuesday February 1, the 5-year-old fell into a dry well 32 meters deep. Despite a race against time to try to deliver him, the child did not survive.
