Once again, the name of Ludovic Bertin, 25, has been mentioned in a morbid case. The man already indicted for the murder of Victorine Dartois, whom he confessed on October 15, 2020, is now the subject of ’a rape complaint filed by a 20-year-old young woman. The facts, dating back to 2008, would have taken place in the Rhône department. Following these accusations stemming from a complaint filed in 2020, investigators extracted Ludovic Bertin from his remand center on Tuesday February 2, 2021 in order to hear his side of the story. He was immediately taken into police custody for this alleged assault which allegedly took place during a party organized near Villefontaine, as revealed The Parisian.
The Grenoble prosecutor's office seized the Grenoble research section. The custody of Ludovic Bertin ended on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 in the afternoon. "The custody of Ludovic Bertin was lifted at 3 pm and he was reinstated in the remand center. Ludovic Bertin wished to make use of his right to remain silent", said the prosecution of Grenoble. But the case does not end there. "An additional indictment for rape will be taken by the Grenoble prosecutor's office to seize the investigating judges already in charge of the first criminal acts committed in Villefontaine on September 26, 2020", is it specified.
He faces life imprisonment
As a reminder, Victorine was killed on her way home on the evening of September 26, 2020. Her attacker had left her for dead and naked in a stream in the town of Roche, on the border with Villefontaine. While in police custody, Ludovic Bertin confessed to killing the student "after being suddenly 'angry'", as reported The Parisian. He was thus indicted for kidnapping, forcible confinement and murder preceded by an attempted rape on October 15, 2020. He faces life imprisonment.
