Debris from a Chinese rocket crashes into the sea near the Maldives

Debris from the Chinese rocket Langer Marsch 5B fell into the sea on Sunday. The Chinese state media report. The crash area is located somewhere southwest of India and Sri Lanka near the Maldives. The debris sank into the sea. So far there have been no reports of damage.

The first module of China’s new space station was launched last month with the rocket. At 18 tons, it is one of the largest objects in decades with an uncontrolled re-entry into the earth’s atmosphere.
