On September 23, 2023, Linda disappeared without a trace. As a reminder, the young girl 15 years was going on foot to the Saint-Blaise-la-Roche station, to join her boyfriend Tao in Strasbourg. A journey that did not go as planned since Lina never arrived at the station. The teenager therefore probably had a bad encounter along the way.
And since Lina’s disappearance, her mother Fanny Groll has been in the media. She has already given several press conferences and founded an association called Lina’s lucky stars. But Lina’s dad had never spoken to the press before. For the first time, Olivier Delsarte decided to grant an interview and it is in the columns of Latest News from Alsace that Lina’s dad chose to confide.

Lina’s dad speaks for the first time
Just like Fanny Groll, Olivier Delsarte has not recovered from the disappearance of his daughter. “It’s not simple”, he explains. Before adding: “Not knowing is frustrating, of course. But on the other hand, it leaves the door open to a certain hope. A hope which nevertheless “diminishes” as the days go by. “Deep down I suspect…”, he begins, before interrupting himself.
“The fact of not knowing allows us to keep a hope, to say to herself that, perhaps, she is sequestered somewhere and still alive. I’m holding on to that”, confides this dad, devastated by the disappearance of his daughter.

Olivier Delsarte opens up about his relationship with Lina
For this truck driver, it is important to point out that he has always been there for his daughter. To illustrate his point, Lina’s dad reveals that he was present the day Lina decided to denounce the rape she suffered in 2022. “It was a Friday, I remember that I was on vacation that same evening (…) I went to pick her up and a few days later (June 27, 2022), we went to the gendarmerie to file a complaint, with his mother”.

Olivier Delsarte evokes a complicit relationship with Lina but also some arguments. “When I was with her, I wanted things to go well. We had a good relationship (…) I tried to instill in her my values and my principles, I think it did her good” , he says. But in July 2022, the situation got away from him. Indeed, the father says that a few days after the rape complaint was filed, he had planned to go walking with Lina and a friend of Lina.

But “when Lina found out that her girlfriend ultimately wouldn’t come with us, she climbed into the towers. She called her mother and her mother came to pick her up. Afterwards I didn’t see her anymore and there were no more exchanges. I sent two messages (in February 2023) but I did not have any answer”. Since Lina’s disappearance, Olivier Delsarte has been on sick leave. “At first, I thought I would continue working. I tried to start again twice but my doctor refused because of my job,” he explains.

The dad also takes advantage of this interview to ask journalists and individuals to stop soliciting him on social networks. “I receive invitations on Facebook or Messenger in spades. There may be people who are well-intentioned but I will never answer. If they have something important to say, they just have to pass by justice. Not by me”, he concludes.
