Departure of the CEO of Lactalis

The dairy giant announces that its managing director for a year, Philippe Palazzi, will step down on Thursday morning.

Officially arrived in January 2021 at the general management of the dairy giant Lactalis (20 billion euros in turnover), Philippe Palazzi will leave his post this Thursday morning, Lactalis said on Wednesday in a very brief press release. “As the conditions for alignment with the Group’s strategy could not be met, Emmanuel Besnier, Chairman of the Lactalis Group and Philippe Palazzi, Chief Executive Officer, are ending their collaboration as of February 3, 2022“.

Recruited almost 18 months ago to take over the operational management of the family group known for its President camemberts, its Lactel milk and its mozzarella Galbani, the former number two of the German distributor Metro will therefore only have made a quick stint at the head of the group. The transplant apparently did not take place with Emmanuel Besnier, the grandson of the founder of the world leader in cheese. An emblematic boss known for his discretion, but having been forced to increase transparency (strategic and financial) on his group, after the scandal of contaminated infant milk in 2017.

Contacted, the Lactalis group declined to comment, and did not give details on the arrival schedule and the name of its potential successor.
