Actress Désirée Nosbusch at the age of 55 feels detached from all expectations. You must "no longer please" today.

Actress Désirée Nosbusch (55) enjoys a freedom that was only granted to her a few years ago: "I don't have to please anymore." In an interview with "Bild am Sonntag", the native Luxembourger said that it was quite a challenge for her to be cast for the role of "the pretty ex-wife or the seductive colleague" between the ages of 45 and 50. "The visual still played a very important role. I found that stressful."

In the meantime, the actress has developed further. At the latest through her involvement in the series "Bad Banks", she has a "foot in the character field" and "life is wonderful there", explains Nosbusch. They would still have doubts from time to time, "if the camera is on the right side, that this is my bad profile", but they can shake them off today. "Meanwhile I also think: Oh come on, let go!"

Too old for a comeback as a presenter?

Before Nosbusch made a name for herself as an actress, she earned her living as a presenter. How does she think about a return to this profession today – during Corona times? "The only nice thing about it would be that I would have nice manicures, pedicures and my hair again. I don't even know what it feels like to come down the show stairs in an evening dress and high heels." In the past few months, her outfit consisted of sweatpants and cozy boots.

"But you also have to be realistic," admits the 55-year-old, "moderators have an expiration date". You yourself could not imagine repositioning yourself again today. "The colleagues who are doing the job successfully at the moment are at least ten years younger than me. Apart from that, I wouldn't like to award an award every weekend."
