Love Island’s Maura Higgins has hit back over photoshop claims, after fans accused her of editing a racy bikini snap.

However, Maura, 29, revealed she received several comments asking if she had edited the photo.

The brunette beauty took to her Instagram story later on to reveal she had deleted the snap because she didn’t want to deal with negative comments.

She told followers: “So my recent post, yeah… I’ve deleted it. I just couldn’t be dealing with the s**t.

“‘Oh, it looks so Photoshopped!’ Get over it. It’s not actually Photoshopped. It’s just got different lighting, I put a filter on it.

“Just to prove you all wrong, I’m going to upload the video on my Stories, just to prove – I’m actually just fantastic.”

But in a bid to prove her haters wrong, Maura re-uploaded the snap, telling fans: “I’m sorry! I cannot stop laughing. I feel like lockdown is sending us all crazy.

“It’s just not like me to delete a photo just because I’m getting abuse. So I’ll put the photo back up.

Maura Higgins recently opened up on her split from Curtis Pritchard

“It’s probably just the lockdown. We’re all losing our marbles. Send the hate my way. I can take it!”

It comes after the Dancing On Ice star broke her silence on splitting from Curtis after the pair found love in the villa last summer.

Speaking in an interview with The Sun, the reality star said that there were issues between them from the moment they left the Majorcan villa as they both became so busy with work.

The former grid girl confessed that “it was the worst time of her life” as she was overcome by exhaustion and had no time to see him.

She said: “I will never forget coming out of that villa.

“I think it was the worst time of my life. I was so busy, I didn’t know where I was. I was living out of a hotel, I was so stressed-out I was getting ill.

“I was so exhausted. I was just working so much – I was getting nothing, no break. Then I got to a stage where my head was not okay. I was upset and feeling really low from exhaustion, and I needed to take some time.”
