Deutsche Bahn: These long-distance trains are canceled today

Nothing works in Hanover anymore. As FOCUS online reporter Sebastian Peters reports, traffic at the main train station in Hanover is still.

"A railway official at the counter confirmed that the regional train and long-distance traffic was completely stopped because of the weather conditions," said Peters. Parts of the main train station are also not accessible due to drifting snow. The measures are the result of heavy snowfall and icing caused by the cold.

According to a statement by Deutsche Bahn, the following restrictions in long-distance transport currently occur in long-distance transport:

  • Today (Sunday, February 7th, 2021) there are no long-distance trains between Hamburg and Kiel, Hamburg and Lübeck and between Hamburg and Westerland
  • Today (Sunday, February 7th, 2021) there are no intercity trains between Hanover and Norddeich Mole and between Münster (Westf) and Norddeich Mole
  • Long-distance traffic between Germany and the Netherlands has been suspended until further notice. The ICE trains between Frankfurt and Amsterdam, as well as the Intercity trains between Berlin and Amsterdam, are omitted on the entire route
  • Long-distance traffic between Berlin and Frankfurt via Braunschweig / Kassel is suspended until further notice
  • Long-distance traffic between Berlin, Leipzig / Halle and Erfurt and between Dresden, Leipzig and Erfurt is suspended at least until midday
  • Long-distance traffic between Berlin, Hanover and Dortmund / Cologne is suspended until further notice
  • Long-distance traffic between Cologne / Dortmund, Hanover, Magdeburg, Leipzig and Dresden is suspended at least until midday
  • Long-distance traffic between Hamburg, Hanover and Kassel is suspended at least until midday. There will be delays and train cancellations between Kassel, Frankfurt and Stuttgart and between Kassel, Würzburg and Munich
  • Long-distance traffic between Hamburg and Dortmund / Cologne is suspended until further notice
  • Long-distance traffic between Hanover and Bremen is suspended at least until midday
  • Long-distance traffic between Frankfurt and Erfurt runs at least until midday with only a limited range of services
  • In long-distance traffic between Dortmund / Cologne and Frankfurt there are occasional delays and train cancellations
  • There are train cancellations in long-distance traffic between Cologne, Kassel, Erfurt and Gera
