The Roche subsidiary Gentech is teaming up with the AI company Nvidia.
The US company Nvidia develops computer chips for artificial intelligence.
The cooperation is intended to advance the development of medicines thanks to improved AI research.
Nvidia’s computing expertise is intended to benefit Gentech scientists. In collaboration with Nvidia, models will be optimized and scaled, according to a statement from Roche.
The decision to work with Nvidia shows that artificial intelligence will play an important role in drug development in the future. This should become more predictable and cost-efficient in the long term.
