The corona pandemic thwarted the Broadway success of "Diana". The musical should run on Netflix in 2021.
The musical Diana, about the late Princess of Wales, Lady Di (1961-1997), is coming to Netflix. The premiere of the Broadway production was originally scheduled for March 31 at the Longacre Theater in Manhattan, but had to be canceled due to the corona pandemic. It has now been announced on the musical's official website that Netflix will add the piece to its range in early 2021.
With a version of the musical filmed especially for the streaming service, Broadway fans around the world should get the chance to see the piece. The recording should take place without an audience, but with the original cast. For example, Jeanna de Waal will slip into the role of Lady Diana, Roe Hartrampf will play Prince Charles, Erin Davie will play Duchess Camilla, then still Camilla Parker Bowles, and Judy Kaye will take on the role of Queen Elizabeth II.
After the musical "Diana" premiered on Netflix, it will also be performed on Broadway from May 25, 2021.
