Today mayor of the 7th arrondissement of Paris, formerly Minister of Justice for Nicolas Sarkozy then MEP, Rachida Dati is enjoying a fine career. But she regularly hits the headlines, for reasons that have nothing to do with his political commitments. In 2008 already, her pregnancy had caused a lot of ink to flow, everyone trying to guess who was the father of their child. Less than a year later, in October 2009, she found herself at the heart of the media turmoil. The reason ? The book written by his younger brother, Jamal.
Entitled In the shadow of Rachida, he intended to settle accounts with his older sister. If he took the floor, it was for “reframe certain public statements” what his sister would have done about him. “When my sister Rachida spoke about me falling apart, some may have imagined that she took care of me. The sister and the politician attacked
Second in a family of eleven children, the career of Rachida Dati has nothing in common with that of her brother. When she became Keeper of the Seals, he was imprisoned for 12 months for drug trafficking. A delicate situation that he seems to have trouble forgiving: ” Already, when she became a judge, I could no longer contact her. I should have called him! And if I had the misfortune to call her, she hung up on me because I was her delinquent brother. She buried me! Since she became a minister, she has really become harder on me” could we read in the Parisian.
In most families, resentments are discussed in private. But Jamal Dati persists on his momentum and also attacks his sister as a person. “My sister is extremely bossy. One must comply with what it demands. Only one way to do it, his own! It’s that or nothing! Everything revolves around Rachida. […] She has little regard for fragile people or people who complain, whether or not they have cause to do so. »
who described himself as “the unloved”, explained in his book not to be the only one of the siblings to have had reprehensible actions. “In October 2008, my father exploded when he saw on television the Secretary of State for Sports, Bernard Laporte, take the hand of Rachida, pregnant, at the foot of the Eiffel Tower and say: ”I am not not the father of the child!” […] Rachida’s attitude infuriated my father. […] We have experienced this whole affair as a disgrace. » If these attacks did not really harm the politician, the sister may have been hit harder.
