This adventure race among paragliders was literally an adventure for a French woman (29) on Wednesday. Because of the weather conditions, she had to use her reserve parachute and make an emergency landing in a forest. The woman was unharmed. However, their recovery turned out to be difficult.
The 29-year-old started at around 7 p.m. with her paraglider in the Wolfratshauser Hütte area as a participant in an organized adventure race. “Adverse conditions put her in a precarious position and she had to open the emergency parachute above Obergarten in the municipality of Lermoos. The landing ended in a dense forest, ”the police said.
Difficult recovery
The woman was lucky and remained unharmed around 15 meters above the ground in a maple tree and waited there. The athlete’s support team notified the rescue chain. The recovery turned out to be extremely difficult. In the end, however, the Lermoos mountain rescue service was able to rescue the woman unharmed using a rope recovery technique.
