Soldiers equipped with metal detectors scour the area. A greenway which connects the cemetery of Saint-Dalmaze to Cagnac-les-Mines, called the “Chemin desminers”, was notably cordoned off by the gendarmerie. For two weeks, investigators have been working to find the body of the 33-year-old nurse, who disappeared on December 15, 2020.

The investigations were first concentrated near the hamlet of Cagnac-les-Mines, around the couple’s home, then in steep undergrowth and difficult to access. The burned farm, cited by a former co-detainee of Cédric Jubillar as a potential place where the latter would have buried the body of his ex-wife, has been scrutinized with a fine toothcomb. So far, these large-scale excavations have yielded nothing.
The GPS data from Cédric Jubillar’s phone recovered via his Google account, thanks to an agreement from the American justice system, notably made it possible to redirect and widen the search area. Indicted and placed in pre-trial detention since June 18, 2021, the main suspect Cédric Jubillar, claims his innocence.
